Tyne-Wear derby first of three newly announced matches live on ESPN- Title chasing Tottenham and current leaders Man City will also feature
ESPN has announced its next set of live and exclusive Barclays Premier League fixtures as it broadcasts three key games in March that are key to the race for the title, and, the battle for European places next season.
On Sunday 4th March, ESPN will bring fans the Tyne-Wear derby as Sunderland – rejuvenated under new manager Martin O’Neill – travel to take on one of the season’s surprise stories Newcastle United, who are chasing a European place. Saturday 10th March sees Harry Redknapp’s title-chasing Tottenham Hotspur visit Goodison Park to take on Everton. Spurs beat David Moyes’ men 3-0 at home earlier this month in the league and will need another win to keep the heat on their Manchester-based title rivals.
Saturday 24th March will see Manchester City, who top the table despite stuttering of late, face one of the league’s most intimidating atmospheres as they play Stoke City at the Brittania Stadium. Roberto Mancini’s side beat the Potters in the 2011 FA Cup Final, but could only secure an away draw in the league last season.
ESPN’s Barclays Premier League coverage will be presented by Ray Stubbs with Kevin Keegan alongside him as lead analyst. ESPN’s analytical team will also include Robbie Savage, Steve McManaman, John Barnes and Martin Keown. Jon Champion and Chris Waddle bring fans all the action from the commentary box, with ESPN’s matchday reporter Rebecca Lowe at pitchside, as she continues to get the exclusive stories from managers and players.
ESPN’s multiplatform coverage of the Barclays Premier League also includes ESPN Goals, the free mobile app that hosts ESPN’s exclusive mobile highlight rights to all 380 Barclays Premier League matches. Available at no cost to football fans, ESPN Goals delivers in-match, post-match and customised highlights, including every single goal throughout the season within minutes of the action, for free.
