UFC 150: HENDERSON v EDGAR – 11th AUGUST

ESPN will broadcast live and exclusive coverage of UFC 150 led by the clash between Ben Henderson, who defends his UFC Lightweight Championship, and former champion Frankie Edgar.

Title holder Henderson’s first defence of his crown is a rematch of UFC 144, where he claimed the belt from Edgar in a match that earned Fight of the Night honours. Henderson is currently ranked as the seventh best pound-for-pound fighter in the world by ESPN’s MMA experts, however, despite being defeated by Henderson in his last outing, Edgar is ranked number six.

Edgar’s defeat to Henderson at UFC 144 was only his second in 17 professional fights dating back to October 2005, a period that saw him successfully defend the UFC Lightweight title on three occasions. Victory against Edgar saw Henderson take his UFC record to four wins from four fights since making his debut at UFC 129.

Henderson, who stands at 5’9”, holds a three inch height advantage over Edgar, who is one of the shortest competitors in the lightweight division. Despite the height difference both fighters weigh in at 155lbs.

Also on the fight card is another lightweight bout between Donald Cerrone and Melvin Guillard – Cerrone has won seven of his last eight fights while Guillard has lost two of his past three. There is also the bantamweight fight between Ken Stone and Erik Perez – Stone is on a two match winning streak but his opponent Perez is on a six fight winning  streak and holds an 11-4 MMA career record.
